Maple Peanut Butter Protein Smoothie

Initially I made this smoothie because I was STARVING (aka PMS), and I saw something similar that I wanted to replicate. I am sharing this recipe because I was blown away by how delicious it turned out!

Ingredients:

1 frozen banana

1/4 cup cooked butternut squash*

1/4 cup unsweetened vanilla coconut milk yogurt (any yogurt with probably do)

1-1.5 Tbs peanut butter (I used Teddies)

~1 tsp cocoa powder

~1/4 tsp maple extract

A few dashes of cinnamon

Instructions:

1. Add ingredients to a blender.

2. Blend until smooth.

3. Devour the deliciousness.

*Use local or homegrown if possible- grocery store squash is usually lacking in flavor and nutrients, unfortunately. I know because I keep disappointing myself. :/ It's just not very good. The squash I used was from my mother's garden. Although, it could probably be omitted altogether, or easily substituted with pumpkin or sweet potato.
